Our earth is getting warmer! We need to do our part in addressing this climate crisis, even here in West Hartford.

A new resolution being presented to the Town Council illustrates that we all can do our part to slow the trend. A Connecticut Party of West Hartford supports this resolution and its call to coordinate the town’s commitment to draw on all resources to help preserve our planet. We recommend that the resolution should identify a specific timeline to get to net-zero carbon emissions.

NOAA and NASA analysis, per a WSJ article Jan. 13, 2022, indicate that 2021 was the sixth warmest year on record, and the last seven years continue to set records. “A separate analysis from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration said 2021 tied with 2018 for the sixth-warmest year and was hotter than all other years except 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020. The years 2020 and 2016 share the temperature record.”

A Connecticut Party of West Hartford and our fellow residents want leadership to address this crisis. We must work together, promoting positive change and making tomorrow better for all.
